This site brings together organizations working to end corporal punishment in schools, homes and around the world.  It provides information for parents about alternatives to physical punishment.  Check the website for updated information about the progress towards eliminating corporal punishment in U.S. schools.

A Canadian centre of expertise and excellence in media education working to ensure children and youth possess the necessary critical thinking skills and tools to understand and actively engage with media.  The site is home to one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of media education and Internet literacy resources.

OMEP-USA, www.omep-usa.org 
OMEP-USA is the US branch of the World Early Childhood Education Organization. It is one of more than 60 national committees, or chapters, in World OMEP, a non-profit child advocacy organization, associated with the United Nations, UNICEF, UNESCO, the World Health Organization, and others working for healthy, peaceful, equitable, sustainable, and just environments for the world's children… today and in the future. OMEP's US members are among the leaders in the struggle to ratify the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Play Matters Foundation, www.playmatters.org. 
Docia Zavitownski, who died in late 2009 in her late '90s, won CEASE's Peace award twice, and was revered throughout the early childhood profession as a wise leader. She established the Play Matters Foundation, which encourages us all to enhance the role of play in the lives of young children.

Rethinking Schools, www.rethinkingschools.org 
Rethinking Schools, a publication for the education community, is firmly committed to equity and to the vision that public education is central to the creation of a humane, caring, multiracial democracy. While writing for a broad audience, Rethinking Schools emphasizes problems facing urban schools, particularly issues of race.
