Dear Friends of CEASE

Is there anything more important than focusing one’s energies on creating a safe world for our children?  We think not.  Please renew your membership in our CEASE network of parents, teachers and other concerned individuals who work diligently toward removing the root causes of violence and advocating for peace, justice, and economic opportunity. 

Each year, prior to the National Association for the Education of Young Children conference, we send our membership a packet of reproducible materials.  Please share these materials with your colleagues, friends, parents and students.  Help us spread the word!

This year our packet includes a flyer for our 2010 NAEYC Seminar “Action for Citizenship:  Nurturing Children’s Instincts for Caring and Empathy. Two articles support our seminar topic, “Developing a Disposition for Citizenship” and “From Chaos to Compassion.” You will also find articles about our partners in activism: The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood (CCFC). 

We are excited about the opportunities afforded us by the world-wide web to expand our work toward peace.  Our newly improved website, our action alert site and our Facebook page afford us limitless opportunities to connect with advocates for peace.  Please read page two for information on how to connect with us in cyberspace.
