CEASE at NAEYC 2009 - Activities
CEASE’s 30th Anniversary Activites
Vigils
CEASE members held a Peace Vigil at the Convention Center entrance and later at the West Capitol Steps. While at the Capitol Steps, families from different parts of the world stopped and spoke with us and took photographs. It is heartening to know that they experienced U.S. citizens witnessing for peace.
CRC Celebration
CEASE participated in the Celebration of the Universal Children’s Day & the 20th Anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Children's singer Vincent and the Thomson Elementary School Choir entertained us with song and dance, and Mark R. Ginsberg, Executive Director of NAEYC, described the origins of Children's Day and urged those present to work for the ratification of the Convention by the United States, now the only country in the world outside its coverage.
NAEYC Interest Forum
CEASE maintained a presence at the NAEYC Interest Forum lounge
throughout the conference.
The interest forum offered us the opportunityto converse with interested conference attendees, sign up new members, and share our literature
and message.
For membership information and more on CEASE goals and activities go to our Contact Us page.
CEASE is a member-supported, volunteer organization. We hope you will join us on our Membership,
and learn more about how you get involved on our Take Action Page.
